Fulfillment Time

Fulfillment Time is the amount of time it takes to process an order and hand it off to shipper. Normally this time is up to 48 hours.

Orders received late in the day may require an extra day to process.

In the event of a delay in processing, MATHESON will notify you by email or phone.

MATHESON locations are closed on weekends and published holidays.

Transit Time

Transit Time is the time required for delivery after MATHESON hands off your shipment to the carrier.

If your order qualifies for Free Shipping, then your shipment will be handled by the carrier and method of MATHESON’s choice. Typically, the carrier will be either UPS, FedEx, or MATHESON truck. In almost all cases, the method of transport for Free Shipping will be Ground.

Ground shipping transit time is proportional to the distance traveled and can take up to five days within the continental US; but typically is three days.

In some cases, customers have the option of choosing expedited shipping for second day or overnight delivery. Please remember that Transit Time – even for overnight delivery – does NOT include Fulfillment Time, described above.

Transit time to Alaska and Hawaii differ. However, since MATHESON has several locations in both states, some shipments may originate locally.

Returns Policy

Whether shipped in error, purchased in error, or defective, you may return product within 30 days of delivery. Before shipping your return back to us, contact Customer Service to obtain a MATHESON-supplied Return Authorization Number (RMA).

For products used in gas service (i.e, to control or measure compressed gases - such as flow meters, regulators, gas hose, valves, etc.), there may be some restrictions on what we can accept as a return. Also, good safety practice dictates that we require customers to complete a purge verification form for most products prior to authorizing a return. If the product has not been put into gas service, you may simply state that and return the form. MATHESON reserves the right to reject any returned item that is deemed a safety risk.

For product purchased by customer error, MATHESON reserves the right to impose a restocking charge. MATHESON reserves the right to set the amount of the restocking charge.

Custom or special ordered product is non-returnable.

Items should be returned complete with original packaging. MATHESON will inspect the returned product upon receipt. If the returned product is found to be in acceptable condition, a refund will be issued. Allow up to 30 days after receipt of returned product for a refund to be issued.

Order Cancellation Policy

If you place an order online and you desire – for any reason – to CANCEL the order prior to shipment, you cannot cancel the order online.
Instead, you must contact MATHESON Customer Service.

In order to simplify the cancellation, it is best to act as soon as possible, so that we can intercept the shipment BEFORE it is transferred to the shipping carrier.

In cases where the cancellation precedes the shipment, there is usually no cancellation charge, except in some cases where custom or special-ordered products are involved.

If the shipment has already been transferred to a shipping carrier, the RETURNS POLICY applies.

Restocking Charge

In case of returned product, under the conditions of our RETURNS POLICY or ORDER CANCELLATION POLICY, a Restocking Charge may apply.

The restocking charge is assessed by reducing the credit for the amount refunded by an amount equivalent to the Restocking Charge.

In some cases, MATHESON may choose to refund the full amount charged for the product, and to issue a Restocking Charge as a separate line item in your invoice/statement, or on your credit card.

Note that MATHESON “takes no pleasure” in charging this fee and will assess it only when necessary.

Restocking charge varies by product type, and may be between 15% and 25%. We also reserve the right to charge more than 25%  as a Restocking Fee in unusual cases (such as, but not limited to, products requiring decontamination).

Please also remember that due to the possible hazards of chemical exposure, some products may not be returnable, even if unused.

The applicability of the fee, the cases where exceptions prevail, and the rules surrounding return of chemically exposed products will vary on a case-by-case basis, and will be made clear when the returns process (see RETURNS POLICY) is put into motion.

Transit Time

Transit time is the time required for delivery after MATHESON hands off your shipment to the carrier.

Ground shipping transit time is proportional to the distance traveled and can take up to five days within the continental US. MATHESON ships from multiple locations across the US, so the typical transit time is less than five days. These are estimates - transit time is subject to delays caused by weather, carrier volume, and other factors not in MATHESON's control.

In some cases, customers have the option of choosing expedited shipping for second day or overnight delivery. Please remember that transit time - even for overnight shipping - does NOT include Fulfillment Time, described above.

Transit time to Alaska and Hawaii differ. However, since MATHESON has several locations in both states, some shipments may originate locally.

Returns Policy

Whether shipped in error, purchased in error, or defective, you may return product within 30 days of delivery. Before shipping your return back to us, please initiate the Return Process by opening the order in your order history, and following the on-screen instructions to select the item(s) you wish to return. Find your order history by navigating to My Account >> My Orders. We will reply with instructions and contact information. Please do not return any item(s) without a MATHESON-supplied Return Materials Authorization Number (RMA), as this will delay the process.

Order history is account specific, and therefore available only for orders placed using the account for which you are logged-in. If the item you wish to return was purchased from a different account, from a Guest login, before you established an account, or if the item was not purchased in this online store, the order will not be found in your order history. In such case, contact MATHESON Customer Service.

If the product has not been put into gas service, you may simply state that and return the form. MATHESON reserves the right to reject any returned item that is deemed a safety risk.

For products returned because of customer choice or customer error, MATHESON will not refund original shipping charges or pay for return shipping.  In these cases we also reserve the right to impose a Restocking Charge. MATHESON reserves the right to set the amount of the Restocking Charge (see below).

Products that are custom-made, non-standard, modified, special-ordered, or included in the "Sale" category are not returnable.

Items should be returned complete with original parts and packaging. MATHESON will inspect the returned product upon receipt. If the returned product is found to be in acceptable condition, a refund will be issued. Allow up to 30 days after receipt of returned product for a refund to be issued.
